Footprints
One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord. When the last scene shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand and to my surprise, I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned my Lord about my dilemma. "Lord, you told me that when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I am aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You leave me." He whispered,"My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you." Don't Worry, Get Happy
Sunday, October 1
The simplest way to convey what I learned today is to tell you that Happiness Is A Choice!!!!! A very good friend of ours was an elementary school principal. He is best remembered by his students as a principal who came over the loud speaker each morning before the students began their day and said " Today you have a choice. You can choose to be happy or choose to be unhappy. The choice is yours. It's up to you." You see, he knew that if you choose unhappiness then you are missing out on God's greatest abundance for your life. Enjoy your life! Life is too short not to be enjoying each day. Enjoy everything....everyone. Family, friends, work, all of it. "Happiness is a decision you make, not an emotion you feel." So, you might as well decide to be happy. Nothing good is going to come of the other. Things are not going to get better because you chose to get upset about them. Complaining and getting angry for something is not going change it. It is what it is. (Another great friend told me that) You have to be happy today. This is the day! "This is the day the Lord has made...let us rejoice and be glad in it" the psalmist tells us. So tell God, "I'm going to be happy with who you made me to be !" Bloom where you are planted. Make the very best of what God has given you already. When He sees you do, then He will trust you with more. and More! And More! AND More! AND MORE! Learn to be happy in spite of your circumstances...not because of your circumstances. Don't worry about the past; it's already gone, don't worry about the future; no one promises you you'll even have one, just live in right here, right now. That's why it's called the present...it's a gift from God to us. Aren't we lucky?

I believe that what I learned the most about this past summer is the need for unconditional love and unending hope. These are the only two factors that will really help you find more fulfillment in life, more satisfaction in your relationships with others and how to have a more intimate relationship with Christ. Stay focused on what matters the most (the Lord) and He will inspire you to live a more purposeful life filled with joy and integrity. I have one a lot of reading over the summer and I've learned to lighten my step and brighten my heart. Now I have an enthusiasm for the Lord that is growing with each new day. Enlarge your vision and start believing in what you can become today. I have!

One of the most impressive qualities you can develop as an effective leader is the ability to do what you say you will do. The way to get that quality is really simple. Unless you intend to do something, don't say you will do it! If you have no intention of doing it then shut your mouth! When you do what you say you will do then even those people who disagree with you will respect you. By doing what you say you will do you develop a reputation of integrity. People see you as dependable and effective. Great qualities of a leader, right?
If you don't do what you say then sooner or later you are putting yourself in the position of having to break your word. Watch out! A man who is not true to himself is true to NO MAN. You have to have the courage to do what you say and speak the truth, even if it's uncomfortable, unpleasant or maybe even a little painful. If you want to be effective, speak the truth and always do what you say, and you will be an amazing leader.

Everyday that I am reading this I think to myself, "if I could express all the beautiful words and feelings that are inside me I could create something really worth thinking about, but instead, I'm not sure how this language works out to be as thoughtful as my mind.
Let me try again...
The way we see ouselves can make us or break us. We have to see ourselves the way God sees us. He has filled us with the dreams, the attributes, the abilities, everything you need to live a great life! Does that mean you will? NO. It means you may, but it doesn't mean you will. It says in the Bible, "God Blessed us with with every spriritual blessing". Blessed...ed...past tense...that means He's already done it and we already have it. But you have to use it; you have to believe it; you have to realize it. Always be looking for the new thing God wants to do in your life. If you fall off the horse, get back on, if something knocks you down, pick yourself back up again. See yourself lifted up, You are a Child of the King and God takes care of his children. God created each of us for great things...God sees us as the best of the best. He gave everything for us, so everything would be free to us. Start stepping out in faith, start enjoying God's blessings. You don't have to be worried anymore, you don't have to be working all the time, so hard, that you are missing your family, missing out on the kids' growing up, worried about the bills, worried about just making it through the day. God has paid the price for us to be free. Free to do anything, free to be anything, free to live a prosperous life...just see yourelf for who you are...you are a child of God. And as I read today on the church billboard as I passed," God loves you as much as if you were His only child".

You have to have passion...
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because the people who mind, don't matter and the people that matter, don't mind"...Dr.Seuss
To be successful, in life as in business, you have to feel passionate about it. You have to know where you're going and you have to be committed to that goal. Whether its planning a vacation for the summer or working with your company . Can you have that same energy, that vitality, that feeling of "I can really see the value of this so I can really embrace it"...that kind of attitude? That comes through...people can tell if you're being genuine or not. Nobody wants to follow a liar; you should give them hope, not hype! Let me propose something to you. I will be open and honest with you, if you will be open and honest with me. Sound fair? I think so. This is how I want to live, how I want to manage my time...I want to revel in the moment of being here and doing this, because it's what I want. I'm not sitting around eating bon-bons and being a couch potato; I'm pro-active...I know where I'm going and I'm excited about it.
Words just keep tumbling through my mind, "Live to give, Choose to be happy, and Trust in our Lord, Jesus Christ".
Gardening is a lot like living...all the people you meet are like little seeds. You help them overcome the obstacles so they can grow in the garden called "life". You care for them, nurture them and give them what they need to grow; then you rejoice with them as they are blooming. Now that's got to make you smile! God gives us all a garden-that's His gift to us and how we tend to it-that's our gift to Him. What a blessing that He loves us that much.
